Ready to get your line wet without committing to a full day on the water? Our extended half-day trip is the perfect way to experience the incredible inshore fishing Panama City Beach is famous for. Whether you're chasing hard-fighting tarpon, stalking redfish in the flats, or jigging for tasty reef dwellers, Captain Alan knows exactly where the fish are biting. With all gear provided and room for up to 4 anglers, this flexible "go with the flow" charter is ideal for families, groups of friends, or anyone looking to make the most of their time in PCB.
As soon as you step aboard, you'll feel the excitement building. Captain Alan's boat is rigged and ready for whatever the day brings. We'll cruise out to the hotspots, keeping an eye out for signs of fish activity. Depending on the season and what's running, we might start by sight-casting to schools of tarpon rolling on the surface, or we could head to some prime structure to bottom fish for snapper and grouper. The beauty of this trip is its flexibility – we go where the action is. And don't worry if you're new to fishing, Captain Alan's got years of experience getting folks on fish, no matter their skill level.
We use a mix of light and medium tackle on these trips, perfect for battling everything from acrobatic Spanish mackerel to bruiser bull reds. You might find yourself tossing live bait under a popping cork, working a soft plastic jig along the bottom, or even sight-fishing with fly gear if that's your thing. Captain Alan's always got a few tricks up his sleeve, like the local "PCB special" rig that seems to work magic on finicky fish. All the rods, reels, and terminal tackle are top-notch and provided for you. Just bring a hat, some sunscreen, and get ready to feel that rod bend!
"I highly recommend Captain Alan with Fish Now PCB! We googled family friendly fishing charters and were lucky we found him! Great price and family friendly. We did the 3 hour trip and it was perfect! 7 red snappers (46 pounds total), a few other random fish, plus we saw dolphins and had a quick swim at Shell Island. It was the perfect day and trip for our family (kids ages 10, 8, 6) We will definitley book again on our yearly vacation to PCB! Thanks again, Captain!" - Correy
"Super knowledgeable and friendly with excellent service all around. For a short 3 hour tour, we were able to net 18 pounds of fish including 2 large red snappers. I will book with Alan everytime I'm in PCB!" - Rick
"Every time me, the wife, and son go out with Capt. Alan, we are treated as if we were family, have an absolute blast on the water, and come back with a cooler full of fish! Today was no different, we caught a wide range of fish, and Capt Alan was prepared for whatever came our way. Highly recommended, and can't wait to do it again tomorrow with Fish Now PCB" - Michael
Tarpon: Known as the "silver king," these massive, acrobatic fish are the stuff of angling legend. Tarpon in PCB can reach weights over 150 pounds, and when they hit your bait, hold on tight! They're famous for their spectacular leaps and gill-rattling head shakes. Late spring through early fall is prime tarpon time, with peak action often in July and August. Even if you don't land one (and trust me, these fish win more battles than they lose), just hooking up with a tarpon is an experience you'll never forget.
Redfish: These copper-colored beauties are a Panama City Beach staple. Known for their distinctive spot near the tail, redfish (also called red drum) put up a great fight and make for excellent eating. We target them year-round, but fall is especially good when big schools of bull reds cruise the beaches. Sight-fishing for tailing reds in skinny water is an absolute blast – it's like hunting and fishing combined. Whether you're casting to schools or working structure, hooking into a red is guaranteed to get your heart racing.
Snapper: While we can't keep red snapper on these inshore trips, there's plenty of mangrove and lane snapper action to be had. These tasty bottom-dwellers hang around reefs, wrecks, and other structure. They might not be the biggest fish in the sea, but they more than make up for it with their tenacious fights and excellent table fare. We often target them with light tackle, which makes for some seriously fun battles when a big one decides to take your bait.
Flounder: These flatfish might not look like much, but they're prized for both their fight and their flavor. Flounder like to hang out on sandy or muddy bottoms, often near structure like docks or jetties. We'll use light tackle and either live bait or soft plastics to tempt them. The bite can be subtle, but once hooked, flounder put up a spirited fight with lots of head-shaking runs. And if you're lucky enough to land a few, you're in for some of the best fish tacos you've ever tasted.
It's not just about the fish (though they definitely help). What keeps folks booking trip after trip with Fish Now PCB is the whole package. Captain Alan's local knowledge runs deep – he knows these waters like the back of his hand and always seems to find the bite, even when other boats are struggling. But more than that, he's got a knack for making everyone feel comfortable and excited, whether you're a seasoned angler or it's your first time holding a rod.
The flexibility of this extended half-day trip is a huge draw. Maybe you want to focus on one specific species, or perhaps you'd rather sample a bit of everything PCB has to offer. Either way, we've got you covered. And let's not forget the scenery – even on slower fishing days, cruising these emerald waters and soaking in the coastal beauty is worth the price of admission.
For families, these trips are a perfect introduction to the world of saltwater fishing. Kids love the constant action, and there's nothing quite like seeing a youngster's face light up when they reel in their first fish. Plus, with all the gear provided and safety as our top priority, parents can relax and enjoy the experience right alongside their little anglers.
So, what are you waiting for? Whether you're a die-hard fisherman looking to scratch that angling itch or a curious first-timer wanting to see what all the fuss is about, our extended half-day trip with Fish Now PCB is the perfect way to experience the incredible fishing Panama City Beach has to offer. With Captain Alan at the helm, you're not just going fishing – you're setting yourself up for a day of laughs, excitement, and memories that'll last long after you've polished off the last of your catch.

Captain Allen gave us an unforgettable trip today! He was polite and accommodating to all levels of fishing experience in our group. His unrivaled knowledge of the area contributed to us getting the best spots for fishing. The youngest member of our trip caught the largest fish, which we just enjoyed for dinner. We'll be back again and will make sure to book with Captain Allen!
