Hot Weather, Hotter Bites: Summer Fishing in Full Swing
Saint Andrews State Park - Bay, FL
July is shaping up to be an excellent time to fish in Panama City Beach, with warm Gulf waters firing up the bite both inshore and offshore. Inshore anglers are finding steady action with redfish around the docks, jetties, and grass lines, especially during early morning or late afternoon tides. Speckled trout are also active on topwater lures in the shallows at first light, and flounder are making appearances near sandy drop-offs.
Offshore trips are delivering solid results for anglers targeting snapper, grouper, and amberjack. Red snapper season may be winding down, but there are still plenty of fish to be found around reefs and wrecks. Deep drop fishing has been productive, and mahi-mahi are showing up in weed lines farther out for those willing to make a longer run.
Tuna fishing from the beach or nearshore is another summer staple in PCB, with blacktips and spinners giving anglers a strong pull and memorable photo ops. Whether you’re casting from a boat, pier, or the sand, now’s a great time to wet a line in Panama City Beach.
